Fall/Winter '26 is at once an opening up, and a refinement of, a question I have been and will be asking - how can mens fashion expand beyond its utilitarian roots, while not alienating the very people I hope to bring along with me on this journey? How do I create trust with a man who wants his clothing to be a more personal reflection of his journey? What questions can i ask, and what examples can i provide, of a mode of expression that is comfortable, bold, and personal? How can i make an item that someone feels at once excited by the newness of it, and yet feel like it is a reflection of the person he always knew he was?
Behind the seasonal frame, the collection continues the same line of inquiry that runs through everything I make: taking utilitarian garments and translating them into pieces meant for everyday life. Nobody buying this trench is wearing it on a battlefield in the rain. So why do we keep the shape? Why does it resonate with a man to wear a silhouette that came from something purely utilitarian? And what happens when that shape gets translated into a fabric who's main purpose seems to be conveying beauty?
That last question is really the whole collection. There's a kind of constrictive masculinity that treats "pretty" and "aesthetically pleasing" as things to be excluded, and I'm trying to find the line where utility and aesthetic pleasure can coexist in a balanced, desirable way. Fall/Winter is a good season to explore this because the fabrics themselves already carry weight and structure; letting them also carry lightness and beauty is where we get to find out where we can go.
FW 2026 sits inside the same argument I've been making since the beginning — that traditionally masculine garments still hold real emotional and formal weight, even when their original function has evaporated, and that the interesting work is figuring out what to do with the forms to convey a sense of quiet confidence, a sense of wonder for the unknown, and in general a rooted sense of self.
